Cabaret is probably one of the last musicals you would expect me to class as a cult film. After all, many other musicals have the stuff of obsession and depth that has carried them onwards into quirk and weirdom. After all, a critical success that scooped up eight Oscars in 1973, it’s hard for me to sit here and be like “boom, cult.” But cult isn’t just about quirk and surrealism, it can be about mainstream successes having a little bit more pulp than the rest. Cabaret is no Rocky Horror...

Leicester Square. Its home of some of the country’s greatest cinemas that showcase the UK’s premieres of blockbusting films. It’s hard to walk in the square without being bombarded by huge posters blazed with the latest action packed hero from The Dark Knight Rises to Total Recall. Leicester Square is a place that is brimmed with movie lovers and goers. But if you, literally, take a detour and up a side street to the edge of China Town, you’ll find The Prince Charles Cinema...

The Windy City is might pretty according to Calamity Jane and many hollywood film makers think so. The beautiful city is featured in many movies such as Candyman and Child's Play. Oh, those films are super creepy and scary. But lots more movies and blockbusters were filmed in some famous or secret locations.

I got to take a look at them first hand; here are some of my favourites.

This is the Rainbo club. On North Damen, Wicker Park and is pretty much tucked away down a side street....

There is always a story to tell. That is generally the motto of film makers, writers and actors a like. Whether its crass comedy of boys growing into manhood, superheroes battling out in a fantastical epic or one person’s struggle against traumatic events, there will always be a never ending stream of tales for films to show. However, it is with some genres and film that lines are between entertainment and storytelling to downright sick pleasure. I’m talking about sexual violence in...

Once upon a time, Hollywood walked into a toy shop and stared around with huge dollar signs in their eyes, wondering "How can I destroy childhood to make it big?" And they did not fail! With the release of Real Steel (Smash Em & Bash Em Robots,) Battleship (.....Battleships,) and hell even chess is in Harry Potter; there seems to be no stop to Boardgames becoming film. So against my better judgement, Cookie N Screen have a few more ideas that if made, we will totally sue for...

Twilight is that undeniable force to be reckoned with. Whether you are hate it or love it, Twilight sends waves of passionate responses. Many film critic (and oridinary non teenage insane person) are quick to lambast the movie series and mainly because they changed the vampire genre. Instead of passionate souless creatures who wonder our earth looking for blood and revenge, we are hit with a wave of sparkly beasts who in turn just want to bone a bland boring teen girl. Yet, before Twilight,...

There is nothing better than a great movie villian; kind that make your hairs stand on end, your pants a little wetter and your energy bill a little higher due to the fact that you can't sleep without the light on. You can't go wrong in the movies with a truly brilliant villian. Yet when the epitome of all evil comes screaming onto our screams, someone out there seems determined to ruin them.
