Film News (With A Teeny Bit Of Television News)
Wow a whole week has gone by which means more movie news is winging its way to you today; including some television news because it is just that important that it needs to be shared with you. What I can let you in to is that the news has been slow this week and on the up run to the Oscars (it is so, close,) so I have three pieces of budding news for you that was just too juicy for me to let it go.
The Good News
The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Star Wars 3D, The Big Bang Theory and much much more, it feels like it is the decade of the geek this time round and it is finally cool to be hanging out in comic book stores collecting figurines and debating the, well, finer points of our favourite latexed heroes. So it is no suprise that Marvel, along with new best friends Disney are currently on an ad rampage for The Amazing Spider Man. Everyones favourite neighbourhood hero is swinging its way into cinemas this year and with a brand new actor in the spandex, a striped back to the roots storyline and a monstorous villian, The Amazing Spiderman looks to please all fans which isn't a hard feet because Spider Man 3 was so terrible, I keep dreaming it doesn't exist.
(Yet sadly, we have to live with Toby Maguires crotch thrust)
Moving on very hurriedly, Andrew Garfield is our new spidey along with the lovely Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey (with blonde hair but is still so pretty.) Latest video clip shows the humor that is running through the film despite not having clips of Gwen or The Lizsrd but is good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJFP_6Sr3wY. Other than that enjoy this picture of Andrew Garfield looking amazingly suited up as Spider Man.
(Again, this > Maguires hip thrust)
The Bad News
(if you are fond of this picture and the show, look away now)
For this weeks bad news, I am going to open with some extremely terrible horrendous news on a smaller screen. I'll start off by saying someone once said on an infamous troll internet site that British programmes are bad. Unfortunately, this isn't that case due to a series of British comedy programmes being completely stolen to be reinvisioned in an US way. Skins, Shameless, Being Human and many more have been giving that white teeth glam of being an American. This needs to stop, but probably wont as the latest British classic to get the go ahead of a diastorous remake is Only Fools And Horses. Yes, you heard me, Only Fools And Horses is going to be remade. There is only so much I can say without uttering a series of profanities and throwing my computer out of the window hoping to the crash will ricochete to America to knock sense into whoever came up with this idea.
Scrubs writers Steve Cragg and Brian Bradley are attempting to translate the 80's sitcom to fit in with 2012 USA and the only thing this could spell is disaster while John Leguizama has just been cast as Del Boy.
("what the hell have I just done?")
What do you think? The Office was a success....will Only Fools and Horses USA be good or bad?
In my opinion,
I shouldn't be asking the question.
I must go.
I've hit my head too many times on the keyboard
